Dashain Festival – Hindu Religion’s Biggest Festival
Only two days left for the biggest festival “Dashain” of Hindu Religion. As Nepal is known as only Hindu Religion country in the world though the current government has taken whatever decision on it but I believe Nepal as an only Hindu Religion country.
Dashain is known as Dashera or Bada Dashain too. This is the only longest festival that runs for 15 days and students from school gets a long holiday vacation for the celebration of this festival. Everyone gets excited for this festival, especially children loves to be a part of it and young, adult enjoys the festival as well.
Today it’s 10th October and the first day of the festival is on 12th October which is known as “Ghatasthapana” too. And the days go on with worshipping all the believed gods and goddesses.
And another most important day is known as “Fulpati” which lies in the 7th day after “Ghatasthapana” and then “Kalratri (Black Night)” on 8th day and “Maha Nawami (Biggest 9th Night)” in 9th day and finally the biggest day and festival is celebrated in 10th day known as “Dashain.” This time Dashain is on 21st October.
It is celebrated once in a year and with lots of foods and non-veg items. It seems like a food festivals in every home in Hindu religion family.
In the Dashain, a younger person put the Tika in their forehead and accepts the good wishes from their elders. This festival is celebrated within family members, relatives and neighbors too. This festival is a symbol of believe and the day of victory too.
This continues for more 5 days and this way it takes 15 days to end the festival Dashain.
If you are a Hindu then you should know much more than this information about the Dashain festival. Please add some more information if you know more.
